Terms and Conditions


Effective from 00:01hrs 23rd March 2022 


 

1 . Lessons durations are 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours as agreed verbally or in writing. Lesson bookings either verbally or in writing (letter, email or text) are binding and contractual.



2 . Lesson fees are due 48 hours IN ADVANCE of each lesson by bank Transfer. If lesson fees are not paid before the lesson is due to commence, it will not take place and the slot may be allocated to another client. 



3 . Lesson Refunds of prepaid discounted lessons will be made after deducting any lessons taken at the FULL CURRENT FEE applicable at the time of refund. See here for more details

 


4 . Your instructor will wait for 10 minutes at the start of your lesson time and if you do not attend your lesson. After 10 minutes your instructor will leave and the lesson will be aborted and classed as a "No Show". The full lesson fee becomes payable. No further lessons will be bookable until this is paid and you risk loosing your regular lesson slot.


 

5 .  If you wish to cancel a pre booked lesson, please give 48 hours notice so that I can allocate the slot to another pupil. IMPORTANT: Cancellations will not be accepted by Text or any messaging format, cancellations will only be accepted by a TELEPHONE CALL from the client. Please note that Parents are strongly discouraged from managing lessons for clients. All changes must be made between the client and instructor  to comply with GDPR guidelines.

 


6 . If a lesson is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice the full lesson fee is payable. 


6a. If an client cancels 2 or more lessons within a 6 week period, that client will loose their regular slot but can be placed back on the waiting list for another slot when available. This will only happen once. Any prepaid credit will be held in suspense for up to 6 months.


 

7 . Each lesson given will be for the full period paid for including a 3-5 minute briefing at the start and a 3-5 minute debrief at the end.


 

8 . Regular lesson slots are only reserved if paid in advance. Please pay for your lesson by Bank Transfer at least 48 hours before the lesson commences.  If another pupil wishes to book a slot that is not prepaid, you may loose your regular slot.

 

9. If a pupil is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the lesson will be immediately suspended and the full fee payable. Breath testing equipment is carried in car and will be used, refusal to be tested will terminate the lesson and the fee will still be payable. No further lessons will be provided and details may be shared with other instructors and/or the police.


 

10 . Your instructor will at all times be polite, courteous and professional, your instructor expects similar in return. Physical and verbal abuse ( in a face to face or via telephone or any other electronic communication method) will not be tolerated and will ALWAYS be reported to the police and may result in you being banned from local DVSA Driving Test Centres.


 

11 . Mobile phones should be switched fully off whilst on a lesson. This is a legal requirement.


 

12 . If your instructor is late, you will receive a telephone call before the lesson commences, and where possible the full lesson duration will be given. If this is not possible, the time will be added to the next lesson, or the payment for that lesson reduced as appropriate, whichever is agreed upon by the Instructor and Pupil.


13 . Refunds of bulk lessons are made by Bank Transfer only. Lessons taken are charged at the current Lesson fee advertised at the time of the refund. Any cancelled lessons with less than 48 hours notice given will be charged at the full lesson rate - even if previously waived as a gesture of good will. An administration fee of £15 is deducted to cover administration costs. The remaining balance is returned by bank transfer within 48 hours ( Please note in some cases where cancellations have been made you may be invoiced for the additional amount if you do not have sufficient funds available after calculating the refund) 


13a. Prepaid lessons are only refundable within 6 months of the last lesson being taken. 


14 . If you have a complaint - please direct this to your instructor initially - they will do all they can to resolve the situation. If this is not possible, you can complain to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) who regulate Driving Instructors. Their number is 0300 200 1122 - ask for Enforcement. You can write to:
